RALLY Combining elements of dog obedience and agility and sports car rallies, the newest dog sport from the American Kennel Club is a fun introduction to the world of competitive dog events. More relaxed than obedience competition and more structured than agility, “Rally-O” uses novice and open obedience exercises; agility course walk-throughs and judge’s meetings, a variety of course set-ups, independent progress from start to finish, and vocal commands and encouragement to the dog, and the principles of sports car rallies in which drivers follow directions at designated stations. Getting Started in Rally Rally-O Teaching Your Dog Obedience And Rally-O Rally-O Dog Owners Guide OBEDIENCE Both the American Kennel Club (AKC) and the United Kennel Club (UKC) offer competition for obedience titles. Both offer titles for different levels of competition, including a CD (Companion Dog) title; CDX (Companion Dog Excellent); and UD (Utility Dog). Additional titles are offered by both registries for advanced obedience work. You can usually find classes and trials almost anywhere you live, and by choosing to train your dog in obedience, you will enjoy a well-behaved dog as well as many hours of companionable fun! Attend an obedience trial and watch. If you are interested, you can join an all-breed dog club or training club that offers classes. SPORTS OBEDIENCE https://www.akc.org/sports/obedience/ BASIC OBEDIECNE FOR YOUR PUPPY https://www.akc.org/expert-advice/training/basic-obedience-training-for-your-dog/ CANINE FREESTYLE Canine Freestyle is a choreographed performance organized with music, illustrating the training and joyful relationship of a dog and handler team. Freestyle is an excellent discipline to illustrate the conformation and movement of the dog. The reach, drive and beauty of an athletic, trained dog moving to music can take one’s breath away.
