Breeding Tips And Tricks
The Bluebonnet Norfolk Terrier Club does not recommend, guarantee, endorse, nor rate these recommendations or contributors, their kennel or their stock. The purpose of this section is to share the knowledge and experience of breeders who have vast experience in whelping and raising puppies. The tips and tricks below are intended to augment qualified veterinarian care, not as a substitute for qualified veterinarian care of the dam and puppies.
Another Newborn Formula: Boil one piece of liver in a cup of water (add water if needed) until it is very cooked. Strain the liquid left over in ice cube trays and keep in plastic bag. Don't worry about liver being a filter and having toxins. Formula One ten oz can of goats milk (I have been lucky to find fresh in the milk area of the grocery store and I use that) 3 oz of liver water (above) One raw egg yolk One cup of while fat live culture yogurt One tablespoon of NATO or canola oil (i use the oil) One dropper of infant vitamins One tsp. Of karo syrup Mix in blender keeps in fridge for 7 days. It can be tubed.
Newborn formula: 12 oz can of unsweetened evaporated milk 12 oz can of distilled water 2 scoops of similac powder (with iron but not necessary) 1 tbls of light karo syrup 8 oz of plain yogurt Put it all in a blender and mix thoroughly. stir it up before using each time. Keep refrigerated and warm what you are using in microwave. Keep 72 hours then make a new batch.
