History History
A 4th generation Bethway dog bred in 1964 with an inbreeding coefficient of 30.8% solidifying the influence of Kelly's Eye, John distinguished himself winning the first drop ear 12-18 month Sweepstakes class offered by The Norwich Terrier Club in 1965 out of a class of 4. At the time, there was no Best In Sweepstakes and the classes were divided by ear carriage but not by sex. He was a singlton puppy with no full siblings. 9 of his 12 paternal half siblings carried the Bethway prefix and of those 5 earned their championship. Three of his paternal half siblings carried the River Bend prefix and did not earn their title. Neither of the two maternal half siblings earned a title. John produced 10 litters for a total 15 get. 7 of the 10 matings were to Bethway bitches and he made his mark producing 6 champion get among his 15 progeny.
