History History
Kiff, bred in 1937 by Miss M.S.S. Macfie and owned by Miss J. Hinkle, earned his place in history as the first American Drop Ear Champion Dog, Black and Tan. His 3 littermates and 17 full siblings all carried the Colonsay prefix and none were champions. One of the 47 half siblings on his sire's side earned her championship but none of the 7 half siblings on his dam's side earned their title. Kiff was bred only 3 times to 3 different bitches for a total of 5 progeny, none achieving their title. Of interest is that his 3rd breeding was to Jacket whose sire and dam were unknown.Note the mixed ear carriage in this pedigree.
